Small Shower Screen - London

This London bathroom teaches an important lesson about small shower screens - they rarely work properly. We only installed this narrow panel because both shower heads sit unusually deep in the enclosure, far from where water could reach the glass. In typical bathrooms where shower heads are closer to the opening, screens this small leave your floor soaking wet.

Unusual Setup Makes It Work

We shaped this narrow shower screen to follow the sloped ceiling exactly, leaving just a 2mm gap sealed with clear mastic. The black wall brackets hold the frameless glass securely against the wall, creating a clean minimal look despite the challenging angle.

This setup only works because the shower heads are positioned deep inside the enclosure. Most bathrooms need much wider screens for proper protection - but here the unusual layout meant water never reaches the glass, so a bespoke narrow panel was possible.

Why Narrow Screens Are Risky

While we cut this glass perfectly to match the angled ceiling, let's be honest - narrow screens like this are mostly decorative. They look nice but offer very limited water protection compared to properly sized panels.

In most bathrooms, water from handheld shower heads splashes everywhere, especially when washing hair or turning around. That's why standard shower screens start at 900mm width. This project works only because of the deep shower head placement - otherwise you'd need a door or much wider panel.
